ODI
One Day Internationals (ODIs) are limited-overs matches between teams with international status that follow International Cricket Council (ICC) regulations and are played over a specified number of overs (usually five or seven hours), usually as major matches once every four years.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka will contest a three-match One Day International (ODI) series in October, as part of the Future Tours Programme, prior to competing at the 2027 World Cup.
Following this three match ODI series both sides will switch gears by playing two Test series during November.
The series will be held at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka and will be decided upon by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Pakistan will feature Shan Masood, Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Mohammad Nawaz, Babar Azam, Asif Ali Hasan Ali Shahab Zaheer Amir Yamin Muhammad Ghazi Ghori as their respective squads, while Sri Lanka features Kusal Mendis Kamil Mishara Pavan Rathnayake as their respective squads.
The series will serve as an important step in both teams’ preparations for the forthcoming World Cup. Both will use it as an opportunity to measure their progress, identify areas for improvement, test new combinations and measure overall standing on ODI rankings; ultimately all in an attempt to win and improve their standing prior to World Cup 2015. These matches are vital in further developing both squads in time for this important competition.
T20

Pakistan and Sri Lanka have played 59 Test matches against one another since 1947. Together, these two sides have amassed 23 wins, 18 losses, and 17 draws; these epic battles have produced some truly unforgettable matches over the years.
Pakistan have often proven formidable opponents but struggled to remain consistent over time – suffering early World Cup exits only to rebound with T20 World Cup victories in 2009 and a remarkable Test performance against arch-rival India later on in 2016.
Pakistan cricket team first gained test status in 1952 and experienced limited international success until the 1980s. By 1990s however, their international performance began to improve steadily with regular appearances at late stage tournaments throughout that decade and into this century.
