Didier Deschamps has led France since they finished runners-up at the 2022 World Cup. Under Deschamps’ watch, France have achieved great success, winning four major tournaments and placing runners-up five times under his guidance. Under him they boast an impressive record that includes four tournament wins and five runners-up finishes; their current squad boasts many attacking options with Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud often featuring up front while Jan Vertonghen and Vincent Kompany form strong defense units.
Belgium XI
Unfortunately for Belgium’s Red Devils this game will go ahead without Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne due to managing his club football commitments, leaving Domenico Tedesco with some difficult selection decisions ahead of this matchup.
Belgium aren’t without firepower either and will look to exploit any weakness in Italy’s defense. Romelu Lukaku has already shown his ability at international level while Lois Openda of RB Leipzig is pressing him hard for starting places. Belgium have plenty of midfield options with Amadou Onana of Everton and Lyon’s Orel Mangala among their regulars as well as Jeremy Doku and Bakayoko on hand for their side.
Italy have enjoyed an encouraging start to their UEFA Nations League campaign under Luciano Spalletti with two wins from their opening two games, without Gianluigi Donnarumma due to injury being replaced by Mattia de Cesaris on Thursday’s match-up at home against Greece. Lazio’s Nicolo Rovella and Inter’s Nicola Barella should start in central midfield, with Mateo Retegui playing behind strikers. Additionally Daniele di Lorenzo, Davide Frattesi and Nicola Tonali provide depth off bench for Italy.
