RR vs PBKS

Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings will meet for their 28th time since 2008 in Indian Premier League action at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium for game 67 of 2025 Indian Premier League tournament. Since that meeting, RR have earned 16 wins while 11 victories for Punjab Kings (PBKS). Both sides hope to build momentum during league stage play-offs to better their chances of making playoffs.

RR Win by 50 Runs After losing their opening two matches, RR have gone on a remarkable winning streak, rising up the table into 9th position. Their match against PBKS will serve as an important benchmark of whether they can continue their run of success and increase their position further.

Punjab Kings have enjoyed a strong start to 2018, taking first place in the table thanks to wins against GT and LSG. Their recent wins against GT and LSG allowed them to jumpfrog MI and gain one point on them – though Royals will remain cautious to avoid back-to-back defeats at home against such high-flyers as they haven’t lost at their venue for six matches against these high-fliers!

Royals bat first

Winning the toss, Royals struggled in the powerplay to score even a modest total of 144/9 from their 20 overs despite some fine bowling performances by Jofra Archer who took two wickets to help the Royals gain back some lost ground on the table. Yashasvi Jaiswal made her return with an effortless 40-ball fifty, well supported by Riyan Parag’s fiery cameo of 25 balls for 43 runs in support of Yashasvi Jaiswal’s return.

PBKS Reach Target Efficiently

Despite losing Glenn Maxwell early, PBKS kept up their tempo in pursuit of their target. Unfortunately for them however, spinner Wanindu Hasaranga struck back by bowling an impressive over yielding only 9 runs and then striking again with his deceptive googly to catch Nehal Wadhera out with an excellent diving catch at deep midwicket from Shimron Hetmyer in over 11.

Royals Cement Victory

Despite untidy batting from both teams, the Royals managed to cross the finish line with five balls remaining and record their second successive win of the season. For home team who had struggled so far this campaign, this victory provided much-needed support while for PBKS it marked an disappointing end of an otherwise solid campaign and may cause them to rethink their strategy moving forward.
