1. CSK vs RR 2023

CSK, founded in Chennai for its inaugural Indian Premier League edition, is an enduring club owned by businessman Gurunath Meiyappan with an avid following both locally and globally.

They were recently involved in an IPL spot-fixing scandal of 2023 when Meiyappan was arrested on charges of match fixing and illegal betting activities.

MS Dhoni reversed history as he led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) past Rajasthan Royals at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday in a last-ball thriller, scoring with just one ball left as CSK needed 176 runs to claim victory for their 200th match as an IPL franchise in history.

MS Dhoni rose to the occasion, leading his side home and giving them victory against an upstart RR side which needed just 15 to secure their victory against CSK and become IPL history’s longest running franchise ever.

Yashasvi Jaiswal set off RR on their journey with an excellent 43-ball 77, but were restricted by Adam Zampa and Ravichandran Ashwin who held back runs by conceding less than four per over combined across their eight overs of spin bowling.

CSK have won five IPL titles and appeared in ten finals, making them one of the most successful teams ever seen in this tournament. Furthermore, they hold the distinction of becoming two-time winners of Champions League Twenty20 tournament.

After an initially slow start, Yashavi Jaiswal ramped up the pace in the fourth over by hitting Maheesh Theekshana for six and late cutting Shardul Thakur for two boundaries – only to be caught out trying for another run off the next delivery by Ravindra Jadeja blocking wicketkeeper Sanju Samson in front of them.

Jadeja had been dismissed earlier for obstruction, with this decision upheld by the third umpire.

CSK are one of the most successful teams in IPL history, having won six outright championships and three consecutive ones since 2006.

Furthermore, they were the first Indian team to achieve unicorn status (valuated at over $1 billion), as well as being one of only two Asian teams ever to achieve this accolade.

Their logo – designed by Ramananda Sree and used since their founding – features stylised version of Tamil letter “Yume” (“Flavor”) which stands for Yume (“Flavor”). FedEx have sponsored them since 2022 making this partnership one of longest corporate partnerships ever in IPL history!

4. CSK vs RR 2026

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is India’s premier Twenty20 cricket tournament, run by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Contested among eight teams, with only the winning side progressing to compete for a place in the final. As one of India’s major sporting events, it attracts massive crowds to stadiums around the country.

CSK are clear favorites to win this match and will look to continue their recent form, having won four out of their past five matches and emerging as one of the premier sides in their league table.

RR have struggled this season and currently lie at the bottom of the table, hoping to avoid another bottom-of-the-table finish by improving their form and adding Sanju Samson through trade deal with CSK – hoping that his batting prowess can solve their batting woes that have plagued them in previous seasons.

5. CSK vs RR 2027

After a cautious start to their innings, Rajasthan Royals’ openers Jaiswal and Samson put on an explosive partnership of 98 runs for a solid start before both fell within an over.

But their middle order rallied strongly behind bowler Chaitanya Bhaskar to complete an eight-wicket win against Chennai Super Kings; Vaibhav Suryavanshi showed his class with an exquisite 57 that helped break their longstanding spell in this format.

Jofra Archer showed substantial improvement over his first outing this season by taking two wickets with an economy rate of 1-13 in three overs.

CSK made an aggressive start, racing to 68 in the powerplay. But Rajasthan Royals bowlers led by Akash Madhwal (3/29) and Yudhvir Singh (3/47) brought matters under control again quickly, and Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis provided crucial contributions with bat and ball respectively to bring CSK up to 187/8.

6. CSK vs RR 2028

Chennai Super Kings won the 2018 Indian Premier League final against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai by 8 wickets to claim their third IPL championship, with Shane Watson winning player of the match honors;

Kane Williamson from Sunrisers Hyderabad received Orange Cap for leading run scorers while Andrew Tye of Kings XI Punjab’s Andrew Tye took home Purple Cap as leading wicket-taker.

Rajasthan Royals had been pegged as one of the weaker teams and many expected them to struggle, yet without Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler they managed to set a competitive total on an ideal Sharjah pitch.

Samson hit nine maximums and one boundary on his way to scoring 74 balls off just 75 deliveries; Jofra Archer hit four sixes off Lungi Ngidi during the final over that ensured victory for Rajasthan Royals over CSK.

It marked the inaugural time that an IPL match would take place outside Chennai since BCCI decided to relocate all home games due to the coronavirus pandemic, sparking widespread protest from fans against this decision.

7. CSK vs RR 2029

Even after this loss, Rajasthan Royals remain in contention for an IPL playoff berth; however, should they lose to Gujarat Tigers in their final match and finish at the bottom of the table for the first time ever in franchise history.

Graeme Smith led Rajasthan Royals’ innings with 35 runs while Swapnil Asnodkar contributed 32. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni scored 41 unbeaten runs as Chennai Super Kings won with two wickets left to spare.

CSK have not seen success against RR in IPL history before; each team had previously met three times and won each match.

This game provided plenty of drama during its second innings. Royal Challengers Bangalore crumbled against Chennai spinners, as Jos Buttler was out caught by Ravichandran Ashwin.

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina became the first player ever to score 5000 runs in IPL history, surpassing Virender Sehwag’s record for most runs scored during an individual season by adding 257 more to his total and will look to add to it against CSK next time out.

8. CSK vs RR 2030

RR are looking to bounce back after two consecutive losses against CSK at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur which has not been an excellent scoring venue.

MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first, opting for bowlers against right-arm spinner Rashid Khan of Rajasthan Royals (RR). Moeen Ali, Maheesh Theekshana and Akash Singh from Rajasthan Royals’ squad were replaced by Dwayne Pretorius Mitchell Santner Deepak Chahar respectively.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was lost early as he top-edged one off Sandeep Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal made an excellent catch at backward square leg.

Devon Conway and Ajinkya Rahane then hit some fours before there was another collapse when Shivam Dube was caught at short midwicket off R Ashwin.

Rahane made an aggressive start by depositing Jason Holder over long-off for an impressive 68 in 43 balls; unfortunately it wasn’t enough as Rajasthan lost three runs short of their target.

Yuzvendra Chahal and Adam Zampa picked up wickets at regular intervals to choke CSK batting line-up, with excellent fielding from Jos Buttler (52 off 36 balls). This marked the first time ever in IPL 2016 that Rajasthan defeated CSK.
