IPL 2022
Indian Premier League 2022 will feature 10 teams, with two new franchises joining: Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants – led by KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya respectively.

Punjab Kinghts have moved a step closer to clinching a playoff berth after defeating LSG by 37 runs at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala in their most recent match, led by Prabhsimran Singh’s brilliant knock of 91 which extended his total run tally in this tournament past 200 runs.
However, LSG were virtually nonexistent in their response. Their powerplay score of 27/3 was uninspiring to say the least and Arshdeep Singh struck twice within three overs to remove Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram respectively before turning around later to dismiss Rohit Sharma for LSG to finish with an overall total score of 73/5 by end of fifth over.
ESPNcricinfo’s forecaster had predicted their chances of victory were only at 0.13% with over half of an innings to play; but Ayush Badoni (74 off 40 deliveries) and Abdul Samad postponed what could have been an inevitable defeat by putting together an 81-run stand for sixth wicket to hold off defeat and extend their innings further.
RCB’s victory at Wankhede Stadium ensured their place in the top four and earned them entry into England for the 2024 Champions Trophy final on June 23.

With just a few wins remaining, the Capitals can ensure themselves of a place in the top four of their division. Meanwhile, Super Giants must win all remaining matches while hoping some results go their way.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) edged closer to finishing second in IPL 2025 table by defeating Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 37 runs at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala on Wednesday. Prabhsimran Singh scored an excellent 91 runs and the middle order delivered another superb performance to help PBKS post a massive total of 236/5 runs for victory.
After an initially slow start to their innings, Prabhsimran Singh broke through with an explosive display of boundary hitting within 15 overs – his innings was littered with 12 fours and sixes – his second-highest total in IPL career.
Meanwhile Josh Inglish and Shreyas Iyer also displayed blistering form – Iyer reaching his fifth fifty in five innings at an unprecedented strike rate of 125 which set an unprecedented mark this season.
IPL 2025
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is an annual Twenty20 cricket tournament organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, usually taking place every year between March 22nd and May 18th but postponed due to political tensions between India and Pakistan.
Due to this crisis, however, only eighteen matches took place this year as opposed to its original schedule of twenty eighteen. This tournament started March 22nd but postponed due to India-Pakistan conflicts on May 8th.
This 18th edition of the IPL features 10 teams competing for glory. The team that finishes first will win and advance directly to playoffs; all other teams will play in Eliminator 1 and Qualifiers to see which two can make it through to the final.
The IPL 2025 schedule has been released, featuring 74 matches across 13 venues. This marks only the second time that it has been reduced to 18 matches; two double headers per day will make matches much more manageable and accessible for fans.
PBKS defeated LSG by 37 runs at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on September 24. Even after LSG made a late comeback attempt, Prabhsimran Singh’s 91-ball century ensured victory and kept their hopes of making it to the top four alive.
Abhishek Sharma led SRH to an easy victory against LSG with an outstanding innings of 109 off 80, supported by wicketkeeper-batsman Shikhar Dhawan who made 75 not out and Rohit Badoni who hit 74 off 40 along with Abdul Samad’s 45 off 25 balls. LSG could only manage 199/7 in reply.
Priyansh Arya provided an early boost for SRH with his dismissals of Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram, followed by Harsh Dubey’s double strike when Rohit and Samad were removed by him to reduce LSG’s lead from 30/3 at half-way point to 30/3 by the halfway mark.
LSG were thus knocked out of contention for top four positions and will need to win all their remaining three matches while other results go their way in order to earn their place in the play-offs.
