Aiden Markram won the toss and chose to bowl first despite some rain lingering around the pitch. For South Africa’s side, Patrick Kruger made way for Reeza Hendricks as they made one change.
In this article, we will discuss the main points or high lights of India National Cricket Team vs South Africa National Cricket Team Match Scorecard.
Scorecard
India claimed their second World Cup title as they defeated South Africa by seven runs in an exciting final. Led by Sanju Samson’s century and bowlers Varun Chakravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi, India amassed an imposing total which they easily defended compared with Proteas led by Quinton de Kock and Kagiso Rabada; their aggressive batting and pace fell short of reaching a winning total.
Wankhede Stadium buzzed with anticipation ahead of an important match. Both teams had spent many weeks practicing hard in preparation, and fans anticipated an exciting matchup between these teams – especially considering that India are considered one of the premier teams worldwide thanks to their powerful batting lineup and versatile bowlers.
South Africa, on the other hand, is well-known for their fast-paced cricket and outstanding fielding abilities. They have won two World Cup titles and remain formidable opponents both domestically and abroad. South African Proteas boast an impressive squad with stars like AB de Villiers and Kagiso Rabada leading their squad.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli look in fine touch; Hendricks seems caught off-guard by Ravi Bishnoi’s spin delivery and hits it for six over square leg! Both teams are now tied on 176 for 7, with just 20 overs remaining in this innings.
The last over is crucially important: Heinrich Klaasen had given South Africa an early advantage but failed to capitalise as Suryakumar Yadav caught at long-off by making a difficult catch after having hit high down the ground with an attempted drive shot by Heinrich.
Hardik Pandya gets hit square in the face by the first delivery, which flies past his glove. Ravi Bishnoi enters as an additional bowler. With fuller delivery from Bishnoi and Hendricks making 50 for South Africa in 50 deliveries for Hendricks alone he manages to score one over square leg and take his bat off his hand as it sails over square leg – setting off this battle between India and South Africa! To defend their total they need at least 10 runs an over from Indian batsmen; thus far they haven’t got off to good starts; only 10 runs have been scored per over so far!
