Pakistan Cricket Board established in 1949 and located in Lahore is responsible for overseeing this team, known as The Men in Green. They compete in all three formats of international cricket including tests, one day internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 internationals.
Pakistan gained independence in 1947 and soon after cricket rapidly blossomed across its borders. Pakistan received Test match status in 1952; their inaugural Test match against India at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi resulted in a draw; Fazal Mahmood took 12 wickets as fast bowler at Oval, London during that series 2-1-1-1-1-1.
Over time, Australia grew stronger and gained respect. They won numerous ODIs and T20Is before reaching several World Cup semi-finals and eventually lifting their inaugural trophy at Lord’s.
They have earned themselves a reputation of being strong at home but unpredictable on the road, thanks to players with great skill but little discipline. But they have made remarkable comebacks in major tournaments like winning 2009 T20 World Cup and beating India in 2017 Champions Trophy final.
In 2010, an unprecedented cheating scandal rocked cricketing when it was discovered that several Pakistani players were accepting money to throw games for them (also known as spot-fixing). Following this scandal, Misbah ul Haq was appointed captain of Pakistan and led them to many successes after leading his side back from scandal.
Pakistan defeated South Africa in 2024’s Champions Trophy final, thanks to their star player Shahid Afridi scoring the winning runs with an amazing cameo performance in front of packed stadiums and an enthralling atmosphere.
Their performance at this competition gave Pakistan confidence going into their next challenge: 2020 Asia Cup; this competition promises to be highly competitive with both teams boasting some of the top players worldwide.

With this opportunity in front of them, the Black Caps hope to continue their momentum towards taking big strides towards becoming World No 1.

New Zealand began their 2007 World Cup campaign strongly and were unbeaten in their first six games, however after that they struggled and were knocked out at the quarter-final stage by Ireland. Coach Bob Woolmer died and Inzamam-ul-Haq stepped down as captain (he was replaced by Shoaib Malik).
They then suffered a loss against Sri Lanka in Super Over, leaving an uphill task of reaching semis on net run rate alone; unfortunately they met India, who had already defeated South Africa and Australia during earlier rounds – however in a tight chase they ultimately came up short, reaching target with two balls remaining!
