India vs Bangladesh

India and Bangladesh may be friendly neighbors, but their cricket rivalry goes back to November 2000 when the two first competed against each other for a Test match in Dhaka. Since then they have played 13 Tests, with India winning 11 outright and Bangladesh two. Bangladesh still haven’t managed to claim its first series victory against India yet!

India and Bangladesh have met 52 times in ODIs, with India winning 34 to 16 victories for each team. Both sides also competed in five T20Is with India winning four wins to one for Bangladesh. Both teams possess some stellar batting options but there’s been significant disparity in their bowling departments; Bangladesh boasts some talented bowlers but have failed to find consistency that allows them to consistently win games in ODIs.

Bangladesh’s top-order batsmen include Litton Das and Mustafizur Rahman, both skilled batting players known for their powerful hitting. Litton Das is particularly known for his powerful stroke play while Mustafizur Rahman can hit long with ease; both however tend to overplay sometimes leading to wickets at crucial moments if over-ambitious playing practices become apparent resulting in big scores being scored against them.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is the governing body for Bangladesh national cricket team. As such, it is responsible for setting playing fields, touring the team, managing them as a whole and managing its finances. BCF is run by government and their president appointed by it; their international connections help secure sponsorship for matches that they organize.

India will travel to Bangladesh for a three-match ODI and three-match T20I series starting August 17. The opening ODI will take place at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur while subsequent ones are set for Chattogram. Both nations currently rank seventh in ICC ODI rankings so this provides both sides an excellent opportunity to increase their standings further – especially given that India lost to Bangladesh back in September 2023 in this very format of cricket!

ODIs

After taking a short rest after winning the Duleep Trophy, India and Bangladesh will face each other for two Tests and three Twenty20 Internationals between September-October. Both sides are eager to put up strong performances against one another and make a statement; Bangladesh having recently defeated Pakistan will have increased confidence under Najmul Hossain Shanto’s guidance, potentially upstaging India on this tour.

Indian has enjoyed an outstanding ODI record against Pakistan in one-day internationals (ODIs), having won 32 out of 41 encounters between them. Most recently they met during the 2017 Champions Trophy when India recorded an emphatic win; their visitors will look to reverse that result and keep alive any hopes for qualifying for the 2024 World Cup tournament.

Indian and Bangladesh are each set to field their strongest squads for the upcoming matches, with India likely continuing with the same team that defeated Pakistan recently under Rohit Sharma’s guidance. Meanwhile, Bangladesh plans on adding strength through Shakib Al Hasan and Nasum Ahmed.

Pitch conditions at Dubai International Cricket Stadium should be suitable for batting-friendly cricket, providing benefits for both teams. Furthermore, no dew has been predicted so that teams might opt to bat first if they win the toss.

With both teams boasting quality spinners, the key to the match could be who wins the toss and opts to field. India would then have the ability to field their bowlers such as Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel who have all been performing admirably at home.

The first One Day International will take place at Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on 17 August, with subsequent matches in Chattogram, Dhaka and Chattogram before concluding at Dhaka’s Shere Bangla National Stadium on 26 August. Test series games begin 19 September at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur while T20 Internationals take place in Gwalior stadium.

T20Is

Indian Cricket Team will arrive in Bangladesh on 13 August ahead of their three-match ODI series that starts on 17 August at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Mirpur and three T20I series that begins 26 August.

India will look to win their first Test series against Bangladesh since 2012 while Bangladesh seeks to increase their World Test Championship ranking.

T20 cricket, on the other hand, focuses on big hitting and momentum rather than lengthy formats of the game. Teams play only 20 overs per innings in this fast-paced format that demands only the finest batsmen to perform at their peak levels. T20 has brought cricket into modern times while drawing huge audiences worldwide.

Rohit Sharma has identified this contest as one of the biggest games in international cricket, hoping to lead his side to their seventh consecutive Test series victory – Virat Kohli returning after an underwhelming tour of Sri Lanka is making them clear favourites for success.

Bangladesh will take confidence from their recent 2-0 Test series win over Pakistan. Their strength lies in subcontinent conditions and when the ball spins; led by Najmul Hossain Shanto leading an attack featuring all-rounders Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan.

This bilateral series will mark the eighth meeting between India and Bangladesh since 2012, with India winning four out of six matches and Bangladesh one; India currently remain unbeaten at home in this format and hope to keep their unbeaten streak intact against Bangladesh. T20I matches determine winners when one team achieves a higher total than its opponent during its second innings; otherwise if tied after 40 overs, a Super Over will be used to decide the result; historically it has always come out ahead.

Tests

India and Bangladesh’s forthcoming Test series is sure to delight cricket fans, with both sides offering an exciting blend of experience and fresh talent. India remains the clear favourite, but Bangladeshi team will aim for an upset. Relations between these teams span over three decades when Bangladesh Tigers were still associate members of ICC; only then became full members and made their long form debut against India.

Since that day, India and Bangladesh have engaged in an intense rivalry, playing 65 matches across three formats since. India have held their ground against Bangladesh largely; winning more than half of those games while still managing some surprises – for instance in 2007 at the ICC World Cup group stage where Bangladesh shocked India and won.

India will aim to maintain their dominance against Bangladesh in Test cricket. They have won six out of the last seven meetings between these two nations. Further strengthening India’s chances will be the fact they have never lost a home Test series against them throughout history.

Bangladesh are no pushovers. Their players can match any in the world in terms of quality. Their batting unit has performed particularly well when faced with subcontinental pitches that produce spin. Their bowling unit, led by captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, will hope to continue its impressive form from their recent ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul will be central figures on India’s chances of victory, both having shown tremendous form during ODI series play. Hardik Pandya will also play an essential role, while Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman will lead their respective bowling departments respectively.
