Joe Mixon

Joe Mixon’s performance against the Ravens was one of the finest ever seen by his franchise. He broke a previous rushing record by covering 404 yards – also the fourth highest total ever for any Bengals running back – though some NFL scouts believe his off field issues will hurt his draft stock. While not ready to start yet, there is potential at this level to showcase Mixon.

The Bengals had an impressive first half against the Ravens before their offense fizzled out in the second. Thanks to an outstanding defensive effort by Ravens’ defense, which limited them to just two points in the second half and went on to secure victory; marking their inaugural Thanksgiving Day win ever.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was limited to just 132 yards passing in the opening quarter and managed only one touchdown pass before his hot hand faded and they struggled to score points. Rookie linebacker Demetrius Knight Jr. recorded two of his career sacks to help slow down Ravens offense.

Mixon scored his team-leading ninth rushing touchdown of the year on a run after being hit with two passes from Ja’Marr Chase to put the Bengals up 21-0 early in the first quarter.

Burrow threw a short touchdown pass to Josh Boyce during a 10-play drive that featured three run plays and one deep pass for Chase to complete it. Following the game, Chase said that he wanted to “be part of the story,” crediting Bengals coaching staff with placing him into suitable roles.

The Bengals lead their season series 61-28 and can win an easy victory against Cleveland Browns to complete a season sweep for the first time since 2021 and claim AFC North supremacy with one more win and their loss. They can clinch that divisional crown if both wins occur!

Ja’Marr Chase

Ja’Marr Chase stands out among Cincinnati Bengals wide receivers as an uncommon specimen. At just 5’10”, and 201 pounds, this rookie stands in contrast with most outside wideouts but stands out due to his speed and athleticism – being one of only four Bengals to accumulate over one thousand receiving yards in each of their first four seasons as a Bengal. Furthermore, Chase is on pace to break Chad Johnson’s all-time rookie receiving yards record from 2007.

Chase scored his eighth touchdown catch of the year against Baltimore during the second quarter. On the following drive, he made a key play; beating man coverage with an aggressive juke move to create separation for Lamar Jackson’s 40-yard pass to Randall Cobb for a touchdown play.

This score propelled the Bengals ahead by two possessions and they never looked back. Their defense was impressive too: rookie linebacker Demetrius Knight recorded his first two sacks of the season while safety Jordan Battle made four pass breakups; this shows that their defensive unit is starting to resemble that which won them the Super Bowl last season.

Even in cold conditions, Burrow was on point in his passing game. He completed 25 of 34 passes for 225 yards and one touchdown, with his longest reception coming from Chase (70-yarder).

While the Bengals offense was running strong, their defense proved its mettle as well. Their secondary shut down a Ravens offense which came into the game ranked fourth in points allowed per game.

Chidobe Awuzie and Marlon Humphrey played key roles in this success as their performances earned both players top grades by Pro Football Focus as Bengals defensive leaders. Awuzie, in particular, showed his worth by recording numerous tackles, pass breakups and one tackle for loss – truly effective performances that put their club over the top!

The Bengals defense was instrumental in keeping Lamar Jackson under control; two sacks and a lost fumble in the red zone contributed to keeping him at bay, and their run defense limited Baltimore’s ground play to only 67 yards for them to run with; helping control the clock and keeping this one close throughout. They won five in a row to improve to 6-2; their best home victory since 2024!

Myles Murphy

Myles Murphy of the Clemson Tigers had two critical sacks against Lamar Jackson during Sunday’s 24-0 victory against the Bengals, both coming on opening drive for two-yard losses, then one more in third quarter – marking his first multiple sack game ever as a 2023 Bengals first-round draft pick.

Murphy wasn’t content to stop at just two sacks; he finished with seven tackles (four solo), four pass deflections and three fumble recoveries – an outstanding performance from someone so young! His presence has already proven beneficial to the Bengals’ defense and will only get better over time.

Murphy should find himself starting in 2026 when his rookie contract expires, with some more solid games under his belt likely earning him that opportunity. On defense, Jordan Battle grabbed onto a deflected Burrow pass to secure his fourth interception of the year and tie for sixth in the league; Marlon Humphrey and Ja’Marr Chase both were exceptional cornerbacks, with Ja’Marr Chase catching 10 passes for 132 yards which is his second highest total ever through 75 regular-season games played and scoring six times this season; now having collected 496 career receptions, making him fifth highest overall in franchise history.

Joe Burrow

Joe Burrow is the latest addition to Cincinnati’s dynamic backfield and proved his worth against Baltimore. The former LSU quarterback completed 29 of 39 passes for 236 yards and three touchdowns on two attempts, adding 17 rushing yards on two attempts as well. Burrow was efficient; all his top targets – Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Chase Brown all caught scores; plus one interception was thrown. Plus there was one fumble recovery!

He was assisted by an impressive performance by the Bengals’ defense, which limited Baltimore to under five yards per pass and four yards per rush while forcing four turnovers and recording six sacks – rookie linebacker Demetrius Knight notching his first career sack and Myles Murphy recording his second. Furthermore, Jordan Battle secured four interceptions, leading his team.

The Bengals offense was able to score some points, but not enough for a victory. After an impressive road performance from Baltimore’s Ravens, Lamar Jackson threw two touchdown passes while Zay Flowers made crucial catches – all hallmarks of success for any playoff hopefuls.

Young and talented players on both teams promise a fiery rivalry that promises to take its game to new heights in coming years, guaranteeing must-watch events for football fans across America. Their futures look bright for AFC North racing as both clubs vie for supremacy.
