MLS All-Star Team Football Vs Arsenal Lineups

Arsenal started their preseason off right, taking down Major League Soccer All-Star Team 6-0 at Audi Field in Washington D.C. They were led by Mikel Arteta.

Thiago Almada and Luciano Acosta of Chicago Fire and FC Cincinnati respectively did not travel due to injuries, while new signings Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber will make their All-Star debut. In this article, we will discuss about the MLS All-Star Team Football Vs Arsenal Lineups.

1. Los Angeles Galaxy vs. New York City FC

After suffering an unexpected loss against Arsenal last week, NYCFC look for redemption against an undefeated Los Angeles Galaxy squad in this All-Star Game at Dignity Health Sports Park. Two of MLS’s premier attackers will participate in this matchup between two powerful attacking units from both leagues.

The All-Star Game begins at 8 p.m. ET and can be watched live via Major League Soccer Season Pass on Apple TV. NYC FC captain Sean Johnson will lead the MLS All-Stars into goal alongside Columbus Crew goalkeeper Roman Burki and Denver Rapids goalkeeper Keegan Rosenberry; Luciano Acosta from FC Cincinnati and Portland Timbers midfielder Evander will represent central midfield.

Even with its struggles, NYCFC still boasts one of the league’s strongest attacks. Petar Musa will lead his side up top alongside Paul Arriola and Logan Farrington; Heber Moralez should provide support from behind on either wing.

NYCFC manager Patrick Vieira must make adjustments after losing several key players through injury, such as Mitja Ilenic (red card), Rio Hope-Gund, and Tayvon Gray. Santiago Rodriguez from Brooklyn FC scored their inaugural All-Star Game goal against Arsenal; so, Ilenic may be replaced.

Wilfried Nancy is back as All-Stars coach this year, taking over from former Columbus Crew boss Rick Carlisle and taking a more flexible approach with his lineups than in years past. Still employing three-back defense with wingbacks that can fly upfield quickly but opting out of using his signature Nancy-ball formation for his teams this time.

2. Real Salt Lake vs. Colorado Rapids

At Audi Field in Washington, DC, MLS All-Stars battle Arsenal FC for an electric experience fans won’t find elsewhere. Alongside this match-up, All-Star Week also includes other events for attendees; among these is AT&T 5G’s All-Star Skills Challenge which pits 10 top Arsenal FC players against 10 All-Stars to showcase some of the world’s finest athletes.

Dave Sarachan will hope his All-Stars squad can build on their successful opening performance to deepen their rivalry with Real Salt Lake. Since 2005, these two clubs have battled it out 62 times for the Rocky Mountain Cup; its winner determined by an independent committee composed of supporters from each club; this trophy is then awarded based on regular season series results and tiebreakers as follows:

Real Salt Lake will field an expansive defensive lineup including goalkeepers Zack Steffen and Sam Vines as well as defenders Darren Yapi, Brayan Vera, Moise Bombito, Omir Fernandez and Connor Ronan in defense. Up front Oliver Larraz and Cole Bassett can both be selected from, the latter of whom shares first place among Major League Soccer goal scorers with 20 goals already this year.

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez may not be present, but their absence doesn’t diminish the All-Stars roster’s talent. Along with them are other standout players such as Columbus Crew SC center back Joo Mario and Cincy’s Sebastian Coates; each have scored four goals this season; Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets from Arsenal bring their world-class ball handling abilities into this clash to round out its attack options.

3. San Jose Earthquakes vs. Seattle Sounders

The Major League Soccer All-Star Team football vs Arsenal lineups will square off in what promises to be an exhilarating battle, featuring world-class athletes on each side and giving fans a look into what could be coming for soccer in North America in years ahead.

This year’s All-Star Game boasts an all-star cast, including several players currently excelling for their club teams. Major League Soccer All-Stars will be chosen via fan vote while Liga MX coaches will select stars for selection by the league’s coaches a few days ahead of kick-off. Lineups will be announced shortly.

San Jose Earthquakes have endured an underwhelming start to 2024 and will hope to break their losing streak at home in this matchup against Seattle Sounders. Although considered underdogs in this contest, they may take advantage of their opponent’s poor form to claim an advantage in this contest.

Even with their slow start, the Quakes have managed to secure two wins in three games and move up the Western Conference standings by defeating Sporting Kansas City by 2-1 at Children’s Mercy Park.

They had been expected to finish higher, but due to a 2-0 defeat at home against Colorado in their last match they dropped back down into sixth.

San Jose started off the night strong as Idrissi executed a long dribble outside the box before unleashing a right strike into the bottom corner. Diego Rossi then provided German Berterame with an assist before he shot one past Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei.

The Sounders have some injury concerns ahead of this game, as top scorer Joao Paulo and defender Nathan Cardoso will not feature for Seattle due to being out with injuries and suspension. Nonetheless, Seattle have enough firepower in its arsenal to threaten opponents regardless.

4. New York Red Bulls vs. New York City FC

New York Red Bulls and NYC FC have established one of the fiercest rivalries in Major League Soccer (MLS), both teams currently seeking playoff qualification, with this weekend’s match-up set to decide who finishes third in East Division.

The Red Bulls head into this match having won their last two matches – against DC United and Toronto FC last week – by scoring three goals each time and are currently averaging over two per match; their goal production ranks them first among MLS teams this year.

Sandro Schwarz has led his side to great success in the attacking third, scoring 24 goals across 13 domestic matches this year and leading their league with an astounding goal difference. This former Bayern Munich and Dynamo Moscow manager typically opts for a 4-4-2 formation featuring Lewis Morgan and Emil Forsberg in central attacking roles, alongside breakthrough talents Daniel Edelman and Ronald Donkor providing additional support.

Even with recent successes, the Red Bulls remain challenged in scoring away matches. Out of four contests played away from home this season, only one win has resulted in goals scored, placing them fifth overall in terms of goals scored on the road.

NYCFC have the chance to win consecutive Major League Soccer matches for the first time since 2022 and match their total number of away league victories from their previous domestic campaign with a win at Queens Stadium. Nick Cushing should field an unchanged starting XI that defeated Colorado last time out.

Maxi Moralez remains unavailable due to injury, while Rio Hope-Gund and Strahinja Tanasijevic are serving one match suspensions due to their roles in last weekend’s post-match altercation between NYCFC and Toronto FC.

5. Philadelphia Union vs. New York City FC

The Union will look to end their three-game losing streak when they meet NYCFC at Subaru Park in gameweek 13. NYCFC are coming off an emotionally charged win against Toronto FC which ended with postmatch violence between coaches, prompting suspensions for both. Both clubs appear in good form themselves.

Nick Cushing of NYCFC is expected to make changes from his starting XI from last weekend’s match against Colorado Rapids. Matt Freese should remain in goal, while midfielder Julian Carranza could possibly join him there as well.

Cushing will likely give his top strikers an extended run-out, including Javier Hernndez and Diego Rossi – both who scored spectacular right-footed shots last weekend in Orlando City SC’s 2-2 draw with them – to test themselves. Rossi has been outstanding since joining Boys in Blue and currently stands out among top scorers in the league.

As for the Major League Soccer All-Stars, they’ll have to do without several of its top stars – Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are nursing injuries while Columbus Crew FC’s Cristian Arango is serving a one-match suspension – yet still possess an abundance of talent on their roster of 18 players representing 17 MLS clubs.

The 2024 All-Star Game marks MLS’s third straight international club matchup since their defending championship victory against Liga MX in 2022; last year they lost to English Premier League powerhouse Arsenal by an 5-0 scoreline. Fans should expect an exciting encounter when these sides go head-to-head; lucky for soccer enthusiasts, MLS Season Pass provides coverage of live broadcast of this exciting clash!
