India vs Namibia
Namibia has made waves in cricket in recent times and they hope to add another win to their list of achievements. Namibia was runners-up at WCL Division Two tournament, earning their ODI status, before finishing fourth at 2021 ICC World Cup Qualifier to secure entry into this year’s competition. They boast an experienced squad that could cause problems for India if they perform to their potential.
India will be without several key players due to illness and injury, yet remain strong enough to complete their task against Australia. Jasprit Bumrah should return after missing the Netherlands match due to fever; pacemen Mohammad Siraj and Sanju Samson will join him as part of India’s attack.
Hosts South Africa have enjoyed success against Namibia in T20Is so far, winning four out of their five previous matches with only a 1-0 loss coming at their own ground Windhoek back in 2022. Namibia are an unpredictable side led by all-rounder Louis van der Westhuizen and can pose serious threats when playing T20I cricket.
Sttenkamp, Frylinck and Erasmus can pose a formidable batting threat against any side, yet were unable to do so against India’s impressive bowling lineup. Varun took three quick wickets early in the powerplay before Axar wrapped up India’s victory late. India have won their two previous T20 World Cup matches; next up they meet Namibia.
