West Indies vs Sri Lanka
These two teams don’t differ much when it comes to skill or talent as they embark on an eight-match bilateral tour consisting of three ODIs and four T20Is. Both sides will hope for an early victory to get momentum going in their ICC Men’s World Cup 2026 campaigns and gain any crucial points needed for victory.
The One Day International (ODI) series kicks off at Sabina Park on June 3, with game two taking place the next day. Following this, it moves to Antigua for two Test matches as well as four days of warm-up fixtures in between each of these.
South Africa have made an excellent start in this tournament, winning five out of six matches thus far and coming away victorious against Zimbabwe at Eden Gardens by an impressive 63 run margin on Sunday thanks to Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram’s stellar batting displays.
South Africa and Sri Lanka each had to defend a target of 177 in the T20 International match at Johannesburg on Tuesday, but South Africa made quick work of it thanks to an outstanding opening stand of 97 between Markram and de Kock in their opening innings batting innings. Markram took up most of the burden as first time T20I players while de Kock speedily attacked in the powerplay overs.
West Indies fans should have a solid idea of what to expect from their visitors as several members have recently played together in franchise T20 cricket leagues like Pretoria Capitals, Johannesburg Super Kings and Joburg Dolphins.
Shai Hope, Sherfane Rutherford and Roston Chase featured regularly for each franchise during 2017, while Akeal Hosein, Gudakesh Motie and Daren Powell all made debuts for Pretoria Capitals – something which could prove vital when final whistle blows at Sabina Park!

West Indies vs Australia
West Indies cricket has not inspired its nation in some time; their batting struggles, and bowling will always remain the dominant force against Australia in Test matches. Yet on pitches like Grenada’s the West Indian batsmen can at least show more proactivity when taking to bat; that certainly happened during game four where Travis Head and Beau Webster played extremely well.
Australia triumphantly completed an emphatic 159-run victory on the final day in St Kitts to seal their 2-0 series lead and send home West Indies players hoping for better fortunes. Australia only needed 48 off their final 35 overs to end it and send their opponents home looking for relief.
Glenn Maxwell made two costly mistakes early in his innings. First he dropped an easy catch off Adam Zampa’s bowling before becoming a golden duck when caught at deep square leg by Shimron Hetmyer off Josh Hazlewood’s delivery.
Both Zampa and Hazlewood performed admirably with the new ball, with Zampa taking three wickets in four overs before lunch while Hazlewood claimed two in quick succession in four. Nathan Lyon was also impressive with his off-cutters; no West Indian batsmen could get on him at the beginning of the fourth session.
Alana King’s ten overs were vital, as she first caught Hayley Matthews attempting to drive at point and then had Karishma Ramharack caught at first slip – both for only 13 runs each.
Georgia Voll’s athletic leaping high at first slip to take an outstanding one-handed diving catch from inside the inner ring gave King her second five-wicket haul of the innings.
West Indies vs England
England were defeated by 30 runs at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, suffering their second World T20 loss of 2016. Jofra Archer cost 48 runs with one wicket while Sam Curran cost 36 in three overs as West Indies spinners ran through England’s batting order. Sherfane Rutherford led England with 74 in 42 balls but was left frustrated as two drops on 23 and 56 cost him his chance.
Roston Chase and Jos Buttler each contributed with 34 runs from 17 balls for Roston while Jos Buttler made contributions with 34 runs in 17 balls respectively but ultimately, England fell short.
